The results and outputs of the TRACE-RICE project have been presented at several national science outreach events, including the Oeiras Valley Science Festival, held at Taguspark (Oeiras) from 21 to 25 May, and the European Researchers’ Night on 26 September at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Centro Ciência Viva in Lisbon.

During these events, the team demonstrated how the TRACE-RICE App, connected to a QR code system, enables full traceability of rice from production to the final consumer. Visitors also had the opportunity to taste traditional rice pudding made with whole grains of the Portuguese variety Caravela, while learning about the nutritional benefits of consuming wholegrain rice.

These activities highlight TRACE-RICE commitment to innovation, and consumer engagement, bringing science closer to society while promoting the value of Mediterranean rice.
